About Us

Harp & Bowl is a Specialty Coffee Roastery in Rockwall, just east of Dallas, Texas.

We’re driven by the love & pursuit of amazing coffee, seeking relationships that keep good coffee going and educating others to do the same.

Buy Good Coffee?

Good coffee always starts with real people growing, harvesting, and producing it. These people are also the most mistreated part of the supply chain, more often than not being paid a less-than-livable wage.

“Buy Good Coffee” is a commitment that we’ve made to seek to pay prices that benefit coffee producers, growers, pickers, etc., backed by a belief that we will see a reward of quality and consistency in the product we roast, and a turn for the better in producing countries.

We believe that when we pay more for good coffee, the results —both in the cup and in the world— will be positive. “Buy Good Coffee” is our invitation for you to join us and help keep good coffee going.

-Joseph & Andy

After an 18 month run of serving coffee at our friends weddings, we knew Harp & Bowl could be more.

We took the jump in November of 2022 and bought a small roaster, setting out on a journey searching for phenomenal coffees with the goal of sourcing ethically and transparently.

Since the first bag sold the following February, we’ve become obsessed with roasting & operating in a way that values origin, the people & the work that goes into producing specialty coffee.

Now in 2026 we’re planting roots in Rockwall and building out a retail roastery & lab, where our local community can visit us, see the work that we do and learn more about good coffee.

A Brief History

Meet the Team

In 2018 Joseph made a resolution to learn to enjoy coffee black, and with enough determination and the help of his local cafe, he acquired a taste for floral Ethiopias and fruity Colombias. In efforts to learn more and get closer to origin, Joseph journeyed to Guatemala to apprentice under a seasoned coffee roaster and cafe owner. After returning to the states he got the opportunity to manage the same shop he fell in love with specialty coffee at.

Andy dove headfirst down the rabbit hole in 2018 after being shocked to learn that a macchiato wasn’t what his employer at the time had taught him it was. As he dug deeper, Andy’s love and passion for specialty coffee grew, propelling him into trainer positions at several DFW coffee companies and eventually affording him the opportunity to learn roasting under an industry veteran.
